EVENT DESCRIPTION

Naw-Ruz translates as New Year and is the Bahai and Iranian New Year. It coincides with the date of the vernal equinox around about the 21st of March every year. Of the nine Bahai holy days, Naw-Ruz is a day when work is suspended. Naw-Ruz is the first day of the first month of the Iranian month of Farvardin, the first month of the Iranian solar year. Historically, it has always been a great national holiday of Iran, the only holiday celebrated by more than one religious' group.
