This day is focused on ways to improve the lives and situations of refugees all round the world. Refugees most often come from catastrophic circumstances where they had to flee their home countries due to civil war, terror, and other crises. The transit period of waiting in camps are sometimes dangerous and unsanitary to say the least. Resettlement grants can sometimes take years to be issued and refugees don't always have a say in which country they are resettled in. In recent times, these crises have reached a global scale. The need to support refugees and celebrate them as dignified people who are in need of humanitarian aid is essential.
