EVENT DESCRIPTION

The Wellington Pride Festival is the longest running Pride celebration in Aotearoa New Zealand. Dating back to 1986, the festival debuted as Newtown's Lesbian and Gay Fair - 'A Fair for a Fair Law' - organised as part of the campaign for Homosexual Law Reform. Since then, Wellington has been home to an array of rainbow festivals and other events which celebrate, represent and support LGBTQIA+ communities locally and further afield.
