The world at large pays homage to the late Nelson Mandela every year on this day for effecting positive political changes in South Africa against apartheid. He was an influential figure who sacrificed more than two decades of his life in prison to destroy apartheid. He became the president of South Africa after he was released from prison and only served one term. The late Nelson Mandela affected the lives of many people across the world and left behind a legacy of inspiration and hope.
