Fiji Day is celebrated annually on the 10 October to mark Fiji's independence from Britain. It is celebrated by Fijians and Pacific Islanders in Fijian communities with traditional foods like Fijian hangi, cassava, seafood, Island root crops, and Dalo. Tapa costumes are typically worn on the day. Kava session of learning about Fijian culture, understanding that different sub-cultures of Fiji have their own significant meaning of kava. The event is celebrated at private homes, Fijian communities and other social gatherings.
